Touchpads that include a built in fingerprint reader only use one driver to control the touchpad and fingerprint reader. The driver is available on the Acer Drivers and Manuals page and will be listed as one of the following names: Touchpad driver. Fingerprint driver. Touchpad/Fingerprint driver.
My touchpad is not working. When I turn the laptop on, an icon is briefly displayed that shows a touchpad with a red circle with a line through it in the lower left corner. I've tried installing the latest driver on Acer's page of drivers for my laptop, but at the top of the list of drivers, it says "Before you install the touchpad driver
I then used Regedit to select the required settings for the touch pad. I've attached a picture to show the registry path. Double click the Dword to alter the setting. Key settings are 0 is off 1 is on. On the enclosed I turned the touch pad touch to click off by setting the Tap Enable to 0. (I use the buttons below the pad to click).
From the results in #3, use the number in first line (i2c-X where X is the number) and type: sudo i2cdetect -r -y X. repeat these steps from all the results in step #3, write down all those with "UU" in the response of step #4. As said in the link I pasted above "If you see 67, you have a cypress touchpad. If you see 15, you have an elan touchpad.
Answers. IIRC the touch driver and te graphics driver are two quite different things. The touchscreen digitizer looks to the system like a USB device, so a problem would show up in Device Manager either as a USB problem or a HID problem. Try W10 again but this time look into the different secions of DM for the issue.
There is no driver installed for it and it doesn't appear in the device manager. If I do a search for new hardware it is not detected. I tried the fn f7 but this did not help. I tried using Acer Recovery but the touchpad is not listed so I can't load the driver. I even checked the website and again no driver for the touchpad. I have run out of
